Notebooks going global

Me and Emma (aka @Oh_Gosh) can’t believe how much love there has been for the 'Travelling Notebooks' so far. We have people signed up to the project from all over England and the United States, from Scotland, Ireland, France, Jordan, the Czech Republic and now Australia.

Not only do we have loads of people signed up, but we have some amazingly talented people signed up.

Bloggers and tweeters and photographers who we have admired, mostly from a distance, for a long time. And new bloggers, tweeters and photographers who have signed up and now will be firm favourites in our reading and viewing lists. The project is doing exactly what we set out to do – to bring new people together. To create an excitement about writing and receiving post – and we haven’t even sent the notebooks out yet. Which brings me onto the point of the post;

We’ll be posting out a copy of the Missie Cindz RECIPES, READY and SNAP notebooks to our first subscribers the week commencing the 27th August!

We will also be starting to email the first recipients with the details of where their notebook will be going next that week too (or maybe even before!).

Engage with your Travelling Notebook Partner
As we’d like this to be a community project it would be lovely if you could get involved and engage with your travelling notebook partner; check out their twitter feed – we have set up a Travelling Notebookers twitter list so you can find your notebook partner there; find out their blog, their Instagram, Pinterest or Flickr page. Maybe mention the person you sent it to when you blog, tweet or post your pictures (we all love to see lots of photographs!).

To keep the books moving, can we suggest that you try and complete your pages (max. two pages) and have the book posted within a month. We don’t have any MI5 style fancy tracking devices, so we’re trusting you to send the notebook on – let's see how far the books can really go before finally returning back to me (Cindz) or either Emma!

To keep participants up to date with their notebook whereabouts and for those people keen to know what the 'Travelling Notebooks' are about in general, you'll be able to find more details via the media channels below:
When you've finished your pages; tell us how you use your notebook companion. We would love to know your favourite recipes, see your snaps and we'll sure be ready to read your daily musings – you can scan or photograph your page(s) along with a brief note and email these to: thetravellingnotebookproject@gmail.com or feedme@missiecindz.com

And if you tweet/instagram your pages, tag them with the #travellingnotebooks or #snailmailisnotdead.

How do I get involved?
If you’d like to join the Travelling Notebooks Project, please fill in the 'Sign up' form found above in the main navigation bar.

How do I get hold of a Missie Cindz Notebook ASAP for MYSELF?
If you can't wait until your travelling notebook arrives; our Missie Cindz books will be available to buy from MONDAY 27th AUGUST via our Shop's page, Cindz Takeaway and from a range of lovely Sheffield stockists – a full list of stockists will be on missiecindz.com next week.

We are both super excited about this kicking off, and am counting down the days 'til the first posting date! – Missie Cindz and Emma :)

The travelling notebook project

The travelling Notebook is a collaboration of sorts between the wonderful Missie Cindz and oh_gosh, {mostly Missie Cindz - she did the hardwork creating the notebooks!} to help promote the sometimes lost art of putting pen to paper and writing. Cindy has created 3 wonderful notebooks  that we are sending off into the world for you to help complete.
In Cindy’s own words 'each book has a one word title that defines it’s personality/character, supported by a line or two to reinforce its meaning and encourage you'
Snap - life is like photography, use the negatives and develop.
Recipes - breakfast, Lunch, Life....and everything in between.
Ready - Pretty things. Clever Words.
Not sure what a travelling notebook is?
The idea behind a travelling notebook is that you sign up to receive a notebook - of your choice or random, you choose - and we send the notebook to the first person on our list. They write/draw/stick/craft (whatever they want really) their pages and post it on to the next person on the list, and so on, and so on, until the book has, travelled the world, is full and, fingers crossed, is posted back to us.

Which notebooks will be out there?
We'll be sending the 'Recipe' notebook out and asking you to fill in your favourite recipe, or your family recipe, or even a recipe you want to try.
'Snap' will be going out with the instructions to add your favourite photo to it, or to describe your favourite photo, or to simply talk about photography and you.
'Ready' will be going out asking you to talk your favourite things - maybe a moment, a possession, a person. All about the things you love and treasure the most!

How do I get involved?
If you’d like to join in, please fill in the form below, and as soon as the books are off the printing press they’ll be winging their way to you.

When you've finished your pages take a picture, or scan or blog your pages and email us at thetravellingnotebookproject@gmail.com.

If you're planning on blogging your pages, let us know so we can tell the world. Blog badges are available at the bottom of every page - right click the image and save to your desktop.

And if you tweet/instagram your pages, tag them with the #travellingnotebooks or #snailmailisnotdead
