Doodling recipes of fun and smiles

RECIPES notebook was posted on to my notebook partner Dan (twitter and instagram @magerzoid) on Tuesday 28th August 2012. Here, Dan shares with us his his favourite recipe of Beef Bourguignon. Looks like Dan enjoyed filling his pages – full of illustrations and random notes, looks like his cat even thought his recipe was finger-lickin; good! The last photo of dan queuing up at the post office made me smile too – now who said 'snail mail' was dead?

Dan captures nicely the 'fun' side to the Travelling Notebooks Project – we want all participant to enjoy filling in their two pages, whether it will be doodles, creative storytelling or making us drool with your fave recipes – we want it to be about you and for you to be playful and creative! At the end of the page – everyone has a story to share. We really enjoyed seeing Dan's pages on Instagram and twitter.

RECIPES is currently making its way over to Dan's notebook partner, Elizabeth in the Midlands (aka twitter: @rosalilium_).

What food brings a smile to your face? Maybe it's food names like "Angel Cake", "Pigs in Blankets" or "Spotted Dick"? Let us know.

Remember when you've finished your pages take a picture, or scan or blog your pages and email them to us at thetravellingnotebookproject@gmail.com.

If you're planning on blogging your pages, please do let us know so we can tell the world. Blog badges are available at the bottom of this post – just right click the image and save to your desktop. And if you tweet/instagram your pages, tag them with the #travellingnotebooks.

The Travelling Notebooks Project Kicks Off!

The RECIPES notebook was posted on Tuesday 28th August 2012. Come back to me full of handwritten adventures and tasty notes worth reading!

We were very excited to launch the Travelling Notebooks project this week. Myself and Emma (aka @Oh_Gosh) posted out a copy of the Missie Cindz RECIPES, READY and SNAP notebooks to our first subscribers and are looking forward to seeing where the books are shared and cannot wait to see them filled in with handwritten musings, personal photographs and your favourite recipes.

We have had such a fantastic response from enthusiastic Travelling Notebookers and have people signed up to the project from all over England and the United States, from Scotland, Ireland, France, Jordan, the Czech Republic, Australia and yesterday, Thailand!

I signed up to fill in the first two pages of the RECIPES notebook. RECIPES asks you to fill in your favourite recipe, or your family recipe, or even a recipe you want to try, and for me, I wanted to share one of my favourite bread recipes; heart-shaped cinnamon bread rolls.
I hope my travelling notebook partner, dan (@magerzoid) liked my completed RECIPES pages

Heart-shaped cinnamon bread rolls recipe
I wanted to share one of my favourite bread recipes; heart-shaped cinnamon bread rolls.

Heart-shaped cinnamon bread rolls
I've made these rolls a few times and they make delicious gifts for that special someone or to give to friends – now, who doesn't love bread! The recipe is one of the best cinnamon buns/breads I've ever made. It really has a great consistency and smells WONDERFUL while baking (the smell of fresh bread always makes me weak at the knees). It's true, making bread is very time consuming. There's a lot of waiting as the bread rises so if you're doing it on a work night, start as soon as you walk in the front door. Plus, they need to sit over night which is great for brunch on the weekend. Delicious, soft bread lightly dusted in cinnamon gooey happiness. Delicious! Bake as instructed.

Don't forget the lemon icing glaze – it's worth serving with it on.

Bon Voyage Notebooks
I hope our RECIPES notebookers enjoy reading these first two pages I've shared – I had too many recipe favourites and took ages pondering which one would be best fit. I'm looking forward to seeing and reading about your homemade RECIPES :) The book was posted on to my notebook partner Dan (twitter and instagram @magerzoid) on Tuesday 28th August. Dan instagram'd me on Thursday 30th August to say he had received my book package in the post – here was Dan's instagram photo. So far the RECIPES notebook is still with Dan (as far as I know) – we hope Dan will fill us in with his book's whereabouts and I'm looking to seeing his hand-written pages soon.
